A Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society Membership can be designed to meet your specific needs at every stage of your career.

Nurse Leader Membership Criteria

Nurse Leader Candidates must:

  • Legally recognized to practice nursing in his/her country
  • Minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field
  • Demonstrated achievement in nursing

  • Nursing faculty member for 23 years

  • Developed classes to help educate the staff on certain areas

Scholarship Information

To qualify for a Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Delta Beta Chapter-at-Large scholarship you must be:

  1. A member in good standing with Sigma Theta Tau Delta Beta Chapter-at-Large
  2. Enrolled in a nationally accredited nursing program.  Eligible students include those in masters degree nursing programs or doctoral programs.  Nurses enrolled in doctoral programs are not restricted to nursing specialties. 
  3. Recipients must attend the November 14, 2008 Research conference to receive their award.

Application for the scholarship must include:

 

  1. Sigma Theta Tau Delta Beta Chapter-at-Large scholarship application form
  2. Verification of enrollment in an accredited school or univeristy
  3. Curriculum vitae or Resume
  4. Personal statement

Personal statement to include:

                                                               i.      Current student and/or professional organization involvement

                                                             ii.      Plan to serve in the Delta Beta-at-large chapter in the next year

                                                            iii.      Vision for future contribution to the nursing profession

  1. Two letters of reference:

Letters to address current and/or potential for:

                                                               i.      Academic aptitude

                                                             ii.      Scholarship

                                                            iii.      Clinical expertise

 

Please complete this information and submit the completed materials together.  Only completed applications will be reviewed.

 

Funds will be awarded and names of recipients will be announced at the Annual Research Conference on November 14, 2008.

 

Recipients who withdraw from the nursing program before completing the semester /year for which this scholarship applies agree to repay the Sigma Theta Tau Delta Beta at Large chapter the sum advanced.

 

The application deadline is November 3, 2008 (applications must be received by this date to be considered).
